The San Francisco Police Department is seeking Retired Peace Officers with valid POST certification and Reserve Level-I Peace Officers to join a highly respected police department that serves a diverse community in one of the most beautiful cities in the country as a Special Events Officer.

Special events officer DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Patrolling assigned districts, responding to calls for service, and assisting with event security.
Conducting investigations, writing detailed reports, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Pursuing, detaining, and arresting suspects when required.
Participating in community policing programs to strengthen public trust and cooperation.
Enforcing traffic and parking laws, especially during large events and road closures.
Preparing for and participating in planned citywide events and special assignments.
Testifying and preparing for court proceedings.
Participating in self-development activities and completing required training to maintain POST standards.
minimum qualifications:
Education: U.S. high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D. or California High School Proficiency Exam), or an AA degree or higher from an accredited U.S. institution.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license at the time of application and throughout employment (California Driver’s License required prior to appointment).
Experience: Must have passed a patrol-based Field Training Program with your home agency as required by POST.
Certification:
Retired Peace Officer with at least two (2) years of experience and a valid POST Basic Certificate,
OR
Level-I Reserve Peace Officer with a valid POST Certificate (Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced) or Basic Course Waiver (BCW).Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
Background: No felony convictions, no domestic violence convictions, and no misdemeanors restricting firearm possession.
Other Requirements:Must meet all physical, psychological, and background standards set by POST.
Must be willing to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must provide certain personal equipment (ballistic vest, duty belt, etc.). A firearm will be issued by SFPD.
